The Daddy's Shirt Dress

Most have already seen my new Daddy's Shirt Dress design. Just look up and you will see the picture in my blog title. I am so excited about this dress. They are just what their name says, a dress made from a man's dress shirt.

How special for Daddy (or Grandpa, or Uncle, or Great Grandpa) to have his little girl wearing a dress made from one of his dress shirts.

What better way to honor the Father's in our lives than this.

I am taking orders for dresses right now. June 7th is the deadline for you to get your shirts, payment, and measurements in to me, in order for me to have it back to you in time for Father's Day!

Let me know your thoughts on this design!

My Haven

So, many people have asked me where I work. I tell them "In my little studio/office". Very vague, I know. I decided I should post some pictures about my space here.

In our house we have a full, unfinished basement that possesses all the creepy features of most basements. A cold cluttered room that is the bottomless pit of laundry (the job I loathe most). But inside this dungeon is a separate room that is my haven. I love my room, but it became messy and I became so busy that I started just tossing things aside, or making small little piles that soon became out of control.

I started to not want to go down there and I slowly, so my husband didn't notice (yah right), started moving a few things up to the kitchen to work. It started with the sewing machine and the fabric and tools I needed to work on a particular project and within a week I had my "office #2" up and running. BTW, my husband did notice, and daily asked when I would be done. He asked me to call in reinforcements.

This is where my best friend, Tara, comes into play. We finally nailed down a date and she came over one evening to help get my office and my back side in gear.

Let me tell you that the results are AWESOME! It's not done, but it is once again my haven. I LOVE MY STUDIO!

So, for all of you that have asked or secretly wondered where your creations are created, check out these pics of before and after.
OMGosh! It has been forever since I have been on here. I am so sorry to my few faithful followers.

I am going to try and get on here everyday now. I want so bad to be better at this.

So, business has been so good. God is so good. I never would have imagined in November of 2008 that I would be where I am right now. I was that little booth in the corner of the Southland Christian Church craft show that was "almost pathetic", that made tutu's, hairbows, and travel wipe cases.
Now, I have custom clothing, travel and nursery size wipe boxes, burp cloths, bibs, blankets, and more. My shop has truly become a custom shopping experience. You pick the item you want, then look through my 150+ fabrics and now you can even have it personalized.

I have shipped as far as the UK and ship all over the US all the time. California, South Dakota, New York, Georgia...I told my husband that I need to get a map of the US to put up in my studio and mark all the places I have shipped. How cool would that be?

It's time to sign off on this one. Be watching. I have several topics I need to blog about....watch out! Here I come!

Photo Shoot Coming Up

This Friday, is the first ever Mrs B's Accessories Photo Shoot. Ashley Shelangoski, of fLASH Photography, is teaming up with me to capture some beautiful children wearing my clothes.

After getting rained out last Tuesday, we are getting very anxious to do this. My wonderful mommies and kids have been very gracious and understanding with the schedule changes. I am praying very hard that God will bless us with beautiful sunny weather on Friday morning.

I found my location, and I know that it will prove to be an AMAZING backdrop for our shots. I am going for a modern, urban look so we are using the backside of a building off of Commercial street. It has several different colors of bricks, a framed ledge, an alley, and even an old metal fire escape staircase. I am beyond excited about this spot.

So here is a mental snapshot of what this morning is going to look like.

25+ kids ranging from ages birth to 6
15 + mommies
3 daddies
4 grandparents
1 photographer
1 Mrs B
and 7 assistants

Did I mention how EXCITED I am for this!?!?!?

Well I am!!! I am beyond excited!

I will be sure to give an update on how it went and for sure again when the pictures are ready to veiw.

It's Official

I am now officially on the hunt for a domain to start my own website. I have heard from too many people that they have had difficulty finding me on the web.

Plus one of the disadvantages of having an ETSY site is that, if someone does not find me on there they can easily find someone else to create their order for them. Now, I'm okay with competition, don't get me wrong, but when I lose business because of difficulties finding me online...I'm not okay with that.

So...if anyone knows of a good domain that I can create a quality website for fairly cheap (because my income is just not THAT big yet :) ) , please share that info with me, if you wouldn't mind.

Thanks to all my followers for your support.

Mrs B's Accessories Debuts at AshBrooke Hollow

Yesterday, June 6th, Mrs B's Accessories was featured and debuted at AshBrooke Hollow.

AshBrooke Hollow is a local boutique gift shop that also has a really nice cafe called the Whistle Stop Cafe.

I was approached by the owner, Brooke, last fall, at my very first craft show, about putting my wipe cases in her shop. We met that following week and my cases were in her shop by that weekend.
After and painfully slow and less than profitable winter, I came back to a new monthly event she started with tons of new items. She loved all of them and decided she wanted everything in her shop and that she was going to start to advertise that AshBrooke had a kids line. And to kick it off, she hosted this awesome event that featured me and my work.

It was a hugely successful day and brought in more people on a Saturday than AshBrooke has ever had.

A huge thank you goes out to all my wonderful family and friends who support me hands down. I love you all and so appreciate your continued support.

Enjoy the pics from that day.
